Prof M Chandrasekaran Is the professor in Biotechnology and the founder head of the Dept of Biotechnology of Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). He is an expert in the field of marine biology, bioprocess technology, microbial enzyme production and fermentation. Prof Chandrasekaran had served as visting scientist at the University of Hiroshima, Japan, and as the Director of the School of Biotechnology of SRM group of institutes. He has also served as an expert member of several national committies. He has several publications to his credit and is considered as a national expert in marine biotechnology and a pioneer in marine molecular biology in the country. He has operated several eternally funded projects and has been instrumental in the development of the CUSAT Department of Biotechnology. Prof Chandrasekaran has guided several PhDs and his students are serving in national and international institutions. He is currently heading the microbial technology laboratory at DBT CUSAT , and is actively involved in molecular microbiology research |

Dr Sabu Abdulhameed Has his PhD from DBT, CUSAT and post doctoral experience in Applied Microbiology and Fermentation Technology from Technical University of Budapest, Hungary and Complex Carbohydrate Research Centre, University of Georgia, USA, and Institute for Research and Development, University of Provence, France.. He is an expert in microbial fermentations for industrial enzyme production, and in the purification of enzymes. He is also an expert in Plant tissue culture and micropropagation. Dr Sabu has several publications and patent to his credit. He is currenlty serving as a fellow scientist at Regional Research Laboratory of the council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt of India. Dr Sabu has proven leadership qualities and orgnanizational abilities serving as the member of Academic council and senatte of CUSAT. |

Dr G Nagendra Prabhu is the Assitant Professor in Biotechnology at the Asian Institute of Medicine, Science & Technology, Malaysia. Prior to his appointment there, he served as faculty at the SD College Alleppey, Kerala. He has his PhD in Biotechnology from CUSAT and is an expert in Applied Microbiology. He was a visting fellow at the German Centre for Biotechnolgy- Braunschweig Germany and at the University of Georgia, USA. He is the recepient of the AMI's Young scientist award. Dr Prabhu has several publications to his credit , and has operated State and Central Governmment funded research projects. He is an expert in Solid State Fermentation and Enzyme Technology. |

Dr Jayachandran K is a faculty of Biotechnology at the School of Biosciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.He is an expert in waste water management and water quality control. He is the course coordinator of biotechnology and examination board member for MG University. Dr Jayachandran has his PhD in Biotechnology from the Department of Biotechnology, CUSAT and have several publications to his credit. He has served as consultant in waste water treatment and industial effluent management. He has expertise in chemical and microbiological analysis of water samples, and in process development for metabolite production. Dr Jayachandran is also an expert in bioprocess technology and bioreactors. |

Mr P Sunil Kumar is a post graduate in Commerce and English Literature. He is currently serving as lecturer in vocational higher secondary school. Dr Rajeev K Sukumaran is currenlty serving as scientist in the Biotechnology Divison of the CSIR's Regional Research Laboratory at Trivandrum. He has his PhD in Biotechnology from DBT CUSAT. Dr Rajeev had post doctoral training in molecular immunology from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, and in Human Embryonic Stem Cell Biology from the field's pioneering lab at the National University Hospital Singapore. He has a PG Diploma in bioinformatics and is experienced in molecular biology and genomics besides mammalian cell culture and protein biochemistry. He is an expert in computerized analyses of large scale gene expression data using clustering techniques and their biological interpretations. He also has expertise in in immobilized whole cell technologies for microbial metabolite production. Dr Rajeev has served as industry consultant in bioprocess scaleup and is experienced in implementation of DOE concepts in process optimization. |
